2026 New York City Marathon Drawing Results Announced
On March 4, the results of the 2026 New York City Marathon drawing were officially released. The event continues to attract significant global interest, and this year’s application volume once again reached a record level, confirming the marathon’s position as one of the most prominent distance‑running events in the world.
More than 240,000 applications were submitted, representing an increase of nearly twenty percent compared to the previous year. As a result, the acceptance rate dropped to approximately one percent, making this edition one of the most competitive in the history of the race. Only a small number of applicants secured a place through the drawing.
For many runners, the announcement marks the conclusion of months of anticipation and preparation. Those who were selected can now begin planning their training schedules, travel arrangements, and the broader logistics required for the November race. Applicants who were not selected often choose to reapply in future years or explore alternative entry options, including qualifying standards or charity programs.
The New York City Marathon remains one of the most sought‑after events in international running. The record number of applications and the exceptionally low acceptance rate highlight the race’s enduring prestige and the strong motivation among runners to reach the finish line in Central Park.
