Review of Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3
Basic Parameters:
• Weight: approx. 230 g (size 42 2/3)
• Drop: 6.5 mm
• Type: racing shoe
Upper and Comfort
The upper in the Adios Pro 3 is stiff, which provides very good foot support during dynamic running, but at the same time, it is a bit more comfortable and refined than in the Adios Pro 2. The material is thin and breathable, which works well during long races, although people with sensitive skin may experience slight irritation around the ankle. A definite plus is the wide front of the shoe—there is plenty of room for the toes, which will be appreciated by runners with wider feet or those whose feet tend to swell after long distances. This is a great solution for marathons, as it minimizes the risk of chafing and allows the foot to move freely.
Cushioning and Dynamics
Thanks to two layers of Lightstrike Pro foam and carbon ENERGYRODS 2.0, the Adios Pro 3 offers a very high level of cushioning and a noticeable energy return with every step. The shoe is stiff and aggressive, especially in the forefoot—the so-called toe-spring strongly “pushes” you forward and makes it easier to increase your cadence. Compared to previous versions, this model is more comfortable on long distances, while still dynamic at faster paces.
Stability
This is one of the most stable “super shoes” on the market, especially at faster paces. The wide sole and distinctly developed base make it easier to maintain balance even on turns or downhills. However, lateral stability at slower paces is average, which results from the racing nature of the construction.
Grip and Sole Durability
The Continental rubber outsole is a real standout feature of this model – it guarantees excellent grip on both dry and wet asphalt, as well as very high resistance to abrasion. Many runners emphasize that this is the best outsole among racing super shoes – even in the rain or on slippery downhills, you can run confidently, without slipping. The durability of the rubber is impressive for a racing shoe – even after several dozen kilometers, signs of wear are minimal.
Summary
The Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 is one of the best racing shoes on the market, especially for marathons and half-marathons. Excellent cushioning, very good dynamics, and outstanding grip make it a reliable choice for important races. The upper is stiff but more comfortable than in the Pro 2, and the wide forefoot ensures comfort even when your feet swell. The Continental rubber sole gives you confidence in all weather conditions. For those seeking maximum performance over long distances, this is a must-have.
