Sydney Marathon 2026 Medal

Sydney Marathon 2026 prepared a unique medal designed by First Nations artist Ambrose Killian. The concept highlights Sydney as a place of connection, culture, and community, while reflecting the city’s identity and heritage. The medal is meant to symbolize both Sydney’s global significance and each runner’s personal journey to the finish line.

The medal includes elements inspired by the entire marathon course — markings along the edge represent each kilometer, reminding runners that every step contributes to a larger story. The design aims to make the medal not just a keepsake, but a visual expression of the effort behind completing 42.2 km.

On the reverse side, eight circles reference the Abbott World Marathon Majors, emphasizing Sydney’s place in the global marathon landscape. The artwork also features the city skyline with iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, connecting the medal to the spirit of the city and its runners.

The Sydney Marathon 2026 medal is designed as a badge of honor for completing the full 42.2 km distance on August 30. It represents not only a physical achievement but also the story each participant writes from the first kilometer to the finish line.
