Attendance records: Berlin, New York, London

In 2024, Berlin Marathon set a record for the number of finishers – 54,280. However, already in the autumn of 2024, this record was broken by the New York City Marathon with 55,646 participants crossing the finish line. In the spring of 2025, the bar was set even higher by the London Marathon, where 56,640 people finished the race, which was officially recognized as the new world record for marathon attendance.

Participation of women and non-binary runners

Over the decade, the number of women finishing the Berlin Marathon increased significantly:

• 2014: 6,768
• 2019: 13,290
• 2024: 18,528

Since 2022, the statistics have also included a non-binary category (2022: 7, 2023: 35, 2024: 59). This is proof of the event’s inclusivity.
