I ran the London Marathon in Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4 and want to share my first impressions after this debut.
Outsole and Grip
The most impressive feature for me was the sole – the Lightstrike Pro is very springy and dynamic, and the Lighttraxion tread with Continental rubber provides excellent grip even on wet asphalt. This gives a lot of confidence with each step and comfort throughout the distance.

Fit and Comfort
The shoes are lightweight and hold the foot well thanks to Lightlock technology and the new lacing system. However, during the marathon, I felt there wasn’t quite enough room for my big toe on the left foot – especially noticeable after a longer run, where my toe ended up a bit bruised. This is probably due to the narrower forefoot design or the way the shoe was laced, which is confirmed by other users’ opinions – the Adios Pro 4 has a standard or even narrow forefoot, so people with wider feet should consider this before buying. For me, sizing up is not an option, as the heel would then be too loose.
Summary and Plans
After one marathon, I see that these shoes have huge potential, but I need more time to fully evaluate them. I plan to test them on a shorter distance to better compare comfort and dynamics at higher speeds. I already know this is a very fast model, ideal for racing, but it’s important to choose the right size and check the fit around the toes.
To sum up:
• Excellent grip on wet asphalt
• Very dynamic, springy sole
• Narrower forefoot – in my case, this resulted in a slightly bruised big toe on the left foot
• I need more training and races at different distances to fully evaluate this model
More tests coming soon!
