This expanded edition will welcome 100,000 participants across the same iconic route from Greenwich to Westminster, creating the largest running and fundraising weekend in UK history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Poppins', sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; text-align: justify;\">The new \u201cDouble\u201d format responds to unprecedented demand \u2014 highlighted by the 1.33 million ballot entries for the 2026 race \u2014 and opens the door for more runners, charities, and community groups than ever before. It also strengthens the event\u2019s global impact, following its recognition as the world\u2019s No. 1 marathon brand in 2025.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #eef3f6; border-left: 8px solid #29495e; padding: 18px 22px; margin: 25px 0; border-radius: 8px; font-family: 'Poppins', sans-serif;\"><strong>\u201cThe Most Ambitious Evolution To Date\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 10px 0 0 0; line-height: 1.6; text-align: justify;\">London Marathon Events CEO Hugh Brasher described the 2027 Double as a once-in-a-generation reimagining of what a marathon and city-wide celebration can be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Poppins', sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; text-align: justify;\">The two-day format will also create the biggest fundraising moment in UK sport. Already the world\u2019s largest one-day annual fundraising event, the London Marathon has generated more than \u00a390 million for charity by 2026 participants. The 2027 Double is expected to surpass \u00a3150 million in charitable impact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Poppins', sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; text-align: justify;\">One day will feature elite women, female para-athletes, championship women, and Good For Age women. The other day will host elite men, male para-athletes, championship men, and Good For Age men. Participants cannot run in-person on both days, but they may combine one in-person race with the virtual TCS London Marathon MyWay.
