The announcement followed the successful staging of the 24 May 2026 edition, which served as the second and final stage of the AbbottWMM evaluation process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Poppins', sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; text-align: justify;\">By joining the series, the Cape Town Marathon now stands alongside the world\u2019s most prestigious races: Tokyo, Boston, London, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago and New York. Its first edition as an official Major will take place on 23 May 2027.
