Berlin Marathon 2026 \u2014 How to Get a Race Number Through the Lottery?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

September in Berlin means one thing for runners: BMW Berlin Marathon. Flat, fast, and iconic \u2014 it\u2019s a dream race for many. But before you hit the start line, you\u2019ll need a race number, and that means entering the lottery.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s everything you need to know to register correctly and avoid missing any deadlines.<\/p>\n

Key Dates<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Ballot Opens: September 25, 2025
\n\u2022 Ballot Closes: November 6, 2025
\n\u2022 Race Day: September 27, 2026
\n\u2022 Results Sent: End of November 2025 (via email)<\/p>\n

All participants \u2014 including fast runners with a qualifying time \u2014 will automatically receive their result by email.<\/p>\n

How to Enter the Lottery<\/strong><\/h4>\n

To be included in the draw, you must register through the official BMW Berlin Marathon website. Sign up here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Make sure to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Use a valid email address
\n\u2022 Be at least 18 years old (born in 2008 or earlier)
\n\u2022 Review the competition rules set by World Athletics and the German Athletics Federation<\/p>\n

Participation Fee<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 The entry fee for BMW Berlin Marathon 2026 is \u20ac205<\/p>\n

Individual vs Team Registration<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You can sign up either as a solo runner or as part of a team of 2\u20133 people.<\/p>\n

Important: You must choose one option \u2014 registering individually means you cannot join a team later.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re creating a team, the first person to register selects the team option and enters a team name. After completing registration, they\u2019ll receive a confirmation email with a team code. This code must be shared with the other team members, who will enter it during their own registration to join the same team.<\/p>\n

Race Rules and Time Limit<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 The course must be completed within 6 hours and 15 minutes from crossing the start line
\n\u2022 Walkers are allowed if they stay within the time limit
\n\u2022 Nordic walking is not permitted
\n\u2022 Only handbikes and race wheelchairs are allowed as sports equipment
\n\u2022 Participants who exceed the time limit will be picked up by the \u201cbroom bus\u201d and must leave the course<\/p>\n
