{"id":229001,"date":"2025-08-06T16:46:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T16:46:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldmarathoner.com\/?p=229001"},"modified":"2025-08-06T17:05:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T17:05:28","slug":"runner-portal-abbottwmm-your-guide-to-the-draws-for-the-worlds-major-marathons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldmarathoner.com\/en\/runner-portal-abbottwmm-your-guide-to-the-draws-for-the-worlds-major-marathons\/","title":{"rendered":"Runner Portal AbbottWMM \u2013 Your Guide to the Draws for the World\u2019s Major Marathons"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Runner Portal AbbottWMM \u2013 Your Guide to the Draws for the World\u2019s Major Marathons<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: 14px;\"><br \/>\nFrom the 2025\/2026 season, Abbott World Marathon Majors has modernized the entire race entry drawing process \u2013 everything is now centralized in the Runner Portal.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to secure a spot in one of the world\u2019s most iconic marathons (Berlin, London, New York, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo \u2013 and now also Sydney), you need to know and follow the new rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All race draws now only available through Runner Portal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting from the 2025\/2026 season, all additional race entry draws for the Abbott World Marathon Majors are exclusively managed through the Runner Portal \u2013 a specially designed online platform for runners. This means that it is no longer possible to enter the draw for race entries in the AbbottWMM series (Berlin, London, New York, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo, Sydney) without an active Runner Portal account.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to enter the draw? Step-by-step instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Log into your Runner Portal<br \/>\n\u2022 Go to the \u201cRace Draws\u201d tab<br \/>\n\u2022 In the Active Race Draws section, you will see currently open draws<br \/>\n\u2022 If you are eligible to enter \u2013 you\u2019ll be able to click \u201cEnter\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 If you are not eligible \u2013 the system will show the reason why<br \/>\n\u2022 After the results are announced, you\u2019ll see your result in the same portal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a place? You must accept or decline!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the most important change: If you win a place through the draw \u2013 you must actively accept or decline it. No response = your bib is forfeited. There\u2019s a limited time to react.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 If you win a spot, you must click:<br \/>\n\u2705 Accept \u2013 to officially confirm your entry<br \/>\n\u274c Decline \u2013 to give up the place, which will then be allocated to the next runner in line<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about additional entries from Road to the Majors Challenges?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve earned additional entries by completing challenges through the Global Run Club:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Go to the Road to the Majors Challenge section (at the bottom of the \u201cRace Draws\u201d page)<br \/>\n\u2022 There you can claim the entries and assign them to a specific draw<br \/>\n\u2022 Previously submitted entries via Google Form will be auto-imported into their corresponding active draws<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: You still have to claim and confirm these entries in the portal \u2013 simply earning them doesn\u2019t automatically enter you into the draw.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What happens if you miss the deadline to claim your place?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t accept or decline your spot within the designated time window (usually two weeks from the day draws open),<br \/>\nyour entry will:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Be forfeited<br \/>\n\u2022 Be redistributed within the same draw to other runners on the waiting list<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check draw results regularly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Runner Portal also includes a section:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Completed Draw Results \u2013 where you\u2019ll find the outcomes of past draws and the current status of every entry you\u2019ve made.<\/p>\n<p>This means you always know exactly whether you got a spot, are waiting for results, or are on standby.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What changed and why is it better?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2705 Everything in one place \u2013 more organized<br \/>\n\u2705 You must actively confirm allocated spots<br \/>\n\u2705 Clear status for every entry<br \/>\n\u2705 Less confusion and more automation<\/p>\n<p>These changes have been long requested by the global running community \u2013 goodbye to clutter and unclear rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Want to learn more about the World Marathon Majors?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Looking for more information about the Major marathons, stats, registration windows, and step-by-step guides?
