Chicago Marathon 2024 Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 2024 Chicago Marathon once again confirmed its status as one of the world\u2019s most important marathons. On October 13, the world\u2019s elite runners competed on the streets of Chicago, with spectators watching both debutants and experienced marathoners. This year, exactly 52,150 people finished the race, setting a new event record and marking one of the highest finisher totals globally. This edition made history thanks to record-breaking results and an exceptional atmosphere created by both runners and fans. Before the race began, a minute of silence was held in memory of the late world record holder Kelvin Kiptum.<\/span>

A Record-Breaking Race and Drama to the Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s competition, John Korir of Kenya claimed victory with a time of 2:02:44\u2014the second-fastest time in Chicago Marathon history, behind only the world record set by Kiptum a year earlier. In the women\u2019s race, Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya made history by breaking the 2:10:00 barrier and setting a new world record at 2:09:56. Both of these results will be remembered as historic moments in marathon running.<\/p>\n

In the wheelchair division, the Swiss dominated: Marcel Hug won the men\u2019s race with a time of 1:25:54, and Catherine Debrunner set a new women\u2019s course record at 1:36:12.<\/p>\n

One of the most moving moments was the minute of silence for Kelvin Kiptum at the start\u2014a symbolic gesture that united the entire running community.
