Runner Portal AbbottWMM – Your Guide to the Draws for the World’s Major Marathons

From the 2025/2026 season, Abbott World Marathon Majors has modernized the entire race entry drawing process – everything is now centralized in the Runner Portal.

If you want to secure a spot in one of the world’s most iconic marathons (Berlin, London, New York, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo – and now also Sydney), you need to know and follow the new rules.

All race draws now only available through Runner Portal

Starting from the 2025/2026 season, all additional race entry draws for the Abbott World Marathon Majors are exclusively managed through the Runner Portal – a specially designed online platform for runners. This means that it is no longer possible to enter the draw for race entries in the AbbottWMM series (Berlin, London, New York, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo, Sydney) without an active Runner Portal account.

How to enter the draw? Step-by-step instructions:

• Log into your Runner Portal
• Go to the “Race Draws” tab
• In the Active Race Draws section, you will see currently open draws
• If you are eligible to enter – you’ll be able to click “Enter”
• If you are not eligible – the system will show the reason why
• After the results are announced, you’ll see your result in the same portal

Got a place? You must accept or decline!

This is the most important change: If you win a place through the draw – you must actively accept or decline it. No response = your bib is forfeited. There’s a limited time to react.

• If you win a spot, you must click:
✅ Accept – to officially confirm your entry
❌ Decline – to give up the place, which will then be allocated to the next runner in line

What about additional entries from Road to the Majors Challenges?

If you’ve earned additional entries by completing challenges through the Global Run Club:

• Go to the Road to the Majors Challenge section (at the bottom of the “Race Draws” page)
• There you can claim the entries and assign them to a specific draw
• Previously submitted entries via Google Form will be auto-imported into their corresponding active draws

Note: You still have to claim and confirm these entries in the portal – simply earning them doesn’t automatically enter you into the draw.

What happens if you miss the deadline to claim your place?

If you don’t accept or decline your spot within the designated time window (usually two weeks from the day draws open),
your entry will:

• Be forfeited
• Be redistributed within the same draw to other runners on the waiting list

Check draw results regularly

The Runner Portal also includes a section:

• Completed Draw Results – where you’ll find the outcomes of past draws and the current status of every entry you’ve made.

This means you always know exactly whether you got a spot, are waiting for results, or are on standby.

What changed and why is it better?

✅ Everything in one place – more organized
✅ You must actively confirm allocated spots
✅ Clear status for every entry
✅ Less confusion and more automation

These changes have been long requested by the global running community – goodbye to clutter and unclear rules.
