Qualification for the New York City Marathon 2027 Through The Hundred Entry Sweepstakes

The 2027 TCS New York City Marathon Hundred Entry Sweepstakes is a fundraising program organized by New York Road Runners, offering 100 guaranteed entries for next year’s marathon. It is not the main NYRR drawing or the standard lottery — it is a separate initiative connected to fundraising, giving participants an additional opportunity to secure a spot through a contest. The program serves as an alternative pathway to obtain entry for the 2027 start line and supports broader NYRR community efforts.

Prizes in the sweepstakes are divided into several tiers. The most extensive reward is the Grand Prize – VIP Marathon Experience for Two. It includes two marathon entries, VIP transportation to Fort Wadsworth, access to start-line hospitality, the option to choose a start wave, a stay at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, and New Balance gift cards. Additional prizes include runner-up packages with marathon and Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K entries, as well as 88 single entries for the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon. All prizes are fully covered and require no additional payment from winners.

Participation in the sweepstakes does not require NYRR membership. Entry is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, excluding Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories. Each participant may enter only once, and NYRR reserves the right to verify winner eligibility. NYRR employees, affiliated individuals, and their immediate family members are not eligible. The minimum age requirement is 18, with exceptions based on local regulations (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi).

The registration window for The Hundred Entry Sweepstakes opened on October 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time and remains available until November 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The drawing will take place on November 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Participants may support the fundraiser with an optional donation, which increases the number of entries assigned to their submission — for example, tripling the entry count if the donation is made before a specified deadline. This mechanism improves the chances of winning but is not required to participate.

NYRR emphasizes that funds raised through the sweepstakes support youth running programs and community initiatives offered throughout the year. Rising NYRR engages nearly 200,000 young participants, and more than 59,000 runners finished the marathon in 2025. The sweepstakes is therefore both an opportunity to secure a marathon entry and a way to contribute to programs that expand access to running for more people.
